Requirements for visa application of Germany
Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dhaka processes all kind of visa as Tourist, Business, Student, Transit, Family visit, Official visa etc. of Germany in Bangladesh. To submit visa application, Applicants have to attend in person at The Embassy & submission procedure is appointment basis. GOAL tours & travels provide consultancy & other services for short term visa application.
Personal Documents:
- Book an appointment & Duly filled Online Application form
- Current passport (minimum validity for 06 months until the planned date of return and minimum two blank pages for visa stamp) with all old passports. If the immediate previous
- Passport is lost, then a G.D (English) copy for that passport is required.
- Two recent color photographs (size 3.5 X 4.5 cm) with a white background but no cap and no sunglasses.
Please note: the photo should not more than 03 months old and should not be used in any of the previous visas. The applicant’s ear must be visible in his/her photo. - Birth certificate / national ID card copy of applicants.
- Marriage certificate or divorce certificate copy (as per religion). A death certificate copy requires for widows.
- For Non-Bangladeshi applicants: Bangladesh Residence permits valid at last 03 months beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member states.
- Visa request letter: Letter from applicant name, designation, Passport Number, purpose, and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses, etc. Addressed to – The Visa Officer.
Professional Documents:
- For Businessperson: Trade license (renewal) and company’s letterhead pad (2 blank pages) require for proprietorship, partnership, and limited company. (i) Additional documents for partnership: Business agreement/deed copy. (ii) Additional documents for the limited company: Memorandum of the article, certificate of incorporation, form 12 (For limited company), VAT, IRC, and Membership certificate (If any) and Business card 02 pcs.
- For Employee: Original no objection certificate (NOC) mentioned: (i) Address, telephone, and fax number of the company (ii) Name and position of the countersigning officer in the company (iii) Name and position of applicants, number of years of service, pay slip / original salary statement/government order (GO) & original note verbal (for official passport holders) and visiting card 02 pcs.
- For Student: Student ID copy, original school leave letter/ permission of absence mentioned full address, telephone number, name, and function of the person granting permission. If school trips then the purpose, the duration, and the destination must be mentioned in the letter of the school.
- For Retired person: Retirement documents.
Financial Documents:
- Bank statement & solvency certificate (original with bank seal and signature) of Last 06 months for both company & personal.
- Other financial documents such as FDR, savings certificate, share statement (If available).
- Income tax certificate copy (last 3 years), E-TIN certificate copy.
- Valuation of other assets such as land, buildings (If any).

Overseas Documents:
- For Tourist Purpose: Personal Invitation letter & evidence of your inviter’s passport and status in Germany (If available).
- For Business Visit: A letter of invitation from the host organization in Germany. Including conference registration details, reasons for applicant’s visit, itinerary with contact details of the business parties involved, and applicant’s employment contract details.
- For event/congress/trade fair: Information on event/congress/trade fair to be participated in Germany with details of organizer/host, with full address in Germany, duration of event and reason to take part (e.g. confirmed congress participation, visitor ticket for trade fair)
- For trade fair: Information on trade fair by submitting exhibitor ticket/ exhibitor invoice/ confirmation letter reflecting status as trade fair exhibitor. Applicants will be granted a gratis visa if the above documents are submitted and reflect name of applicant and/or employer
Cultural Purpose
- Letter from Local Bangladesh Cultural Association including name, postal address and telephone number, stating artists/ member of cultural association name, role or position within the association, as well as starting date of employment/ commitment and salary /remuneration of applicant including written confirmation that applicant will notwork in Germany.
- Documents reflecting the nature /purpose of the journey and stay of artist/ member of cultural association in Germany:
- Artist/ Member of Cultural Association in Bangladesh travels to a cultural event organized in cooperation with a German Cultural Association:
- Letter of Local Bangladesh Cultural Association stating timeframe and schedule of cultural camp/event with details of organizer/host with full address in Germany, as well as purpose of cultural camp/event and information who covers costs (accommodation, travel expenses) and
- Letter of Local German Cultural Association with full address, stating partner of cooperation, timeframe and schedule of camp/event
- Athletes / Member of Sports Association in Bangladesh travels to a cultural camp/event organized by the (Local) Bangladesh Cultural Association:
- Letter of Local Bangladesh Cultural Association stating timeframe and schedule of camp/event with details of organizer/host with full address in Germany, as well as purpose of camp/event and information who covers costs (accommodation, travel expenses) and
- Letter of Support /No Objection by the BGD Ministry of Culture confirming the camp, timeframe and stating the Local BGD Cultural Association and German Cultural Association.
Others Documents:
- Travel Health Insurance (for up to 30,000 Euros).
Visa Fee & Service Charge:
- Embassy Visa fee TK 12,500 + Embassy Charge.
- Embassy Visa fee for Children 6-12 age TK 6,250.00
- No visa fee for Children under 6 years of age
- Goal Tours & Travels service charge TK. 3,000 (Notary and translation charges are additional- if needed).

Return of your passport
As soon as the Embassy has decided on your application, you can collect your passport within a period of eight days. You should collect your passport in person. If you are not able to collect it yourself, you can authorise another person to collect it for you. In order to do so, please write a "Power of Attorney" ("Letter of Authorisation"). Please understand that your passport is a very important document, therefore the Person who comes on your behalf must have a Picture ID (national ID or passport photocopy), without which the Visa Section will not hand over your passport.
There are various reasons why your visa application may be rejected. The reasons will be stated in the letter notifying you that your application has been rejected.
You are welcome to submit a new application at any time with complete, informative and verifiable documentation.
NOTE:
- If Note Verbal is available, then Health Insurance is not mandatory for Official Passport Holders & for transit visa there is no need to show travel health insurance
- All visa fees must be paid upon submission of the above in cash (BDT) only
- The processing time at the Embassy due to necessary and obligatory legal requirements takes up to 15 calendar days. Applicants are requested to apply well in advance, but –due to legal requirements -not more than3 months prior to the intended date of journey. Status updates during the regular processing time are not entertained.
- During the whole processing time the passport has to remain with the German Embassy. Passports can only be withdrawn if a written request by the applicant himself is presented to the Embassy. Consequently, the application will be cancelled / withdrawn and the passport returned within 2 working days
- False or falsified documents, incl. fake bookings, will lead to the refusal of visa and /or further consequences.
- The German Embassy Dhaka reserves the right to ask for additional documents and /or call applicant for an interview
Special rules might apply for some nationals which passports are notrecognizedby the German authorities. You might be re-quested to come personally to the Embassy. Visa processing will take more time.
